Doctor Marcia L. Johnson, born and raised in Southeast, Washington D.C., has a PhD in Information Technology (IT) with a specialization in Information Security from Capella University and a Master’s degree in Network Security from Capitol College.  Both curriculums are a part of the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense sponsored by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.  Doctor Johnson has over 25 years’ experience in the area of IT Security infrastructure and support and is an expert in Assessment and Authorization (formerly Certification and Accreditation) processes.  She is a certified Program Manager and Certified Information Security Professional.  As an accomplished program/project manager she has been responsible for high visibility deliverables.  Doctor Johnson has strong leadership and interpersonal skills in managing employees, subcontractors, and directly interfacing with customers in Commercial, Law Enforcement and Intelligence communities.  During her journey she committed herself to taking a personal interest in mentoring and coaching others in pursuing their personal and career goals.  Doctor Johnson is currently “giving back” by teaching at the Community College level.
